Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I have a 6-year-old son and would like him to start music lessons. Does Staten Island Music School teach them that young?

A: Yes, the youngest we start a child on music lessons is 5 years old. We suggest that younger students begin with lessons on a keyboard instrument. We offer programs on accordion, piano, and electric keyboard that is specifically tailored to that age group.

Q: I used to play the accordion when I was younger and I still have my accordion. Does Staten Island Music School offer refresher courses?

A: Absolutely. Our premise is that you never forget what you have once learned. It is a matter of brushing up.

Q: I am retired and have always wanted to play the piano. Is it too late for me to start?

A: It is never too late. At the Staten Island Music School, we have a number of adult students that are dedicated and having fun in our friendly atmosphere.

Q: Are there certain times of the year that I have to enroll in music lessons at Staten Island Music School?

A: We invite you to enroll at any time. Since all our lessons are private, your start-up date does not matter, as we can tailor a course to suit you.
